Bob Kindred is a founder member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation, and is its Government Liaison Secretary and Research Coordinator. He is also a member of its Council and its Education, Training and Standards and Policy Committees.
He is Chair of the Trustees of the IHBC’s Gus Astley Post-Graduate Student Awards; edited the Institute’s journal Context for a decade and established in 1996 and currently maintains the National Database of Listed Building Prosecutions.
He is one of the consultant editors to the international Journal of Architectural Conservation; has written extensively on heritage policy; and has served on research commissions and inquiries for a number of statutory agencies and government departments including external advisor to DCLG on its Best Practice Guidance on Listed Building Prosecutions.
